Hey,

I am Michael Shuker. I was born in a small town called Qara, in the suburbs of Damascus, Syria. At the age of thirteen, I moved to the city of Damascus. Later I studied computer science, but I didn’t really like it.

Since I discovered photography — first as a hobby, then as a passion — it has reshaped my path. Eventually, I made the decision to leave my engineering studies behind and fully embrace the world of visual storytelling.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a lot of photographers and so many studios, exploring a wide range of photographic genres. This diverse experience had a strong impact on my style and challenged my curiosity in capturing different subjects — from people and products to everyday moments that often go unnoticed.

Besides photography, I began a self-learning journey with the RiQ six years ago, and it quickly became more than just an instrument to me.
